Have you ever felt, while visiting a place that you knew it was visited thousands of times, that your were discovering it for the first time? Me neither, until this trip. Luca (Cosmo) took us on an amazing trek across volcanic fields and close ro the summit craters. His gentle and yet effervescent nature made our journey exciting but also serene, as you would expect it to be when you climbing the mightiest volcano in Europe. We reached the promised height of around 3000m due a mix of good mood from both the weather and Etna and the technical knowledge that Luca showed at all times, which allowed us to complete the activity in total security. For some of us that never lived with a volcano next door, it’s easy to underestimate their volatile nature. Luca not only made it safer, but also more meaningful by explaining the history of the region, of Etna and of volcanology. I would definitely repeat it.

The trip was great. The weather was crazy “windy” but beautiful day nonetheless. I was hoping to be able to see more, not sure if it was because of the weather but it still felt like we were far from seeing the top. Again the wind was blowing 100km/hr and even though I’m very happy with my experience something was missing. The guide (Lucas I believe) was very informative, knowledgeable and pleasant.

A nice experience with a great guide(Luca) that takes you on a walk in order to discover and understand what a volcano is - in this case, to get to know Etna and its history. I highly recommend this trek if you want to have an authentic volcano experience.
