From Athens: Private Day Trip to Aegina Island

3. From Athens: Private Day Trip to Aegina Island

Once you arrive, you will immediately notice the neoclassical buildings in earthy colors, the traditional houses with small courtyards filled with trees and flowers, and the narrow streets where you can explore the traditional shops and taverns. Wander through the paved alleys between mansions, churches with blue domes, and popular art shops. You can choose to stroll among the local boats which have been transformed into floating grocery stores. Do not forget to buy some of the famous peanuts from Aegina's unique peanut variety. You can also make a worthwhile visit to one of the traditional ouzo taverns, where you can taste fresh seafood with ouzo or tsipouro. Admire the Temple of Aphasia and the beautiful coastline of Perdika before being driven back to Athens and pay a visit at the peanut factory.

Aegina Island & Temple of Athina Aphaia Private Day Tour

4. Aegina Island & Temple of Athina Aphaia Private Day Tour

If you are in Athens, traveling to Aegina (Aigina) island is one of the best island day getaways but also a real Greek experience. A perfect PRIVATE day trip to the pristine beaches of an authentic destination without the “hordes of tourists” but with small-scale beauty and simplicity. Looking for an authentic experience? The boat trip, the island feeling, the food & drink, the culture & history? It is all there! We start with a hotel pick-up and then to the port of Piraeus for a great boat ride enjoying the views from the ferry’s decks or the air-conditioned sitting areas for 1 h and 10 minutes. Just enough time to breathe the sea air but not too much to make you feel tired or bored! The tour is operated with our private cars for your transfer from Athens to the port and then for exploring the island, but we use the commercial ferry boat to travel to the island. We do not provide a private yacht! Aegina island is a pine green island that you’ll explore privately with your tour leader and full flexibility. A beautiful, relaxing island in the Saronic Gulf facing Athens with small fishing villages, and a “swimming pool-like” water. We’ll visit the island’s famous Saint Nectarios monastery, explore the Perdika fishing village, and enjoy the Temple of Athena Aphaia with its amazing views. Finally, your tour leader will recommend the best location for an authentic lunch right next to the water before returning to the return boat trip. Depending on the time of the year, you could enjoy an undistracted sunset while cruising back to Athens.

Fully organised and super program for everyone! The boarding was such a fun already, they welcoming us with music. The view was amazing and breathless. The crew was nice and always informed us with the necessary information. They also performed a folklore show. I definitely recommend it!

Great trip. The stop at Poros was very short and could probably be skipped all together. Hydra and Aegina were beautiful and we did a donkey ride while at Hydra. Sit on the top deck of the ferry as much as possible. The views were incredible. Highly suggest this trip!

Very good service and well organised. Cheap. The only advice would be to listen to the panoramic exit and leave more time to visit the port at the last island.

Very good organization of the hotel transfer until the return. A little expensive but it allows you to make a good combination in one day.

It was a lovely experience to see 3 beautiful islands in 1 day
