I absolutely recommend Elafonissi beach and I think that this is a must when you visit Crete. This tour helped me reach Elafonissi without a hassle as I don’t drive. Taking the public bus would have been an option but not sure where that drops us off. This tour drops you off right on the beach and the coach waits for you until it’s time to leave. Elena, our guide, was also very helpful giving us interesting facts about Crete. We had 4 hours to spend in the beach with a stopover for breakfast on the way. We started at 8am from central Chania and got back at around 19:30. I wish we could have spent more time in the beach as it is so beautiful. I was travelling solo and met a friend in this tour.
It was very nice trip I can definitely can recommend if you don’t want to rent a car but would like to discover other places of West Crete.(which has the nicest beaches and coast lines as per feedbacks). The organizers picked us up at the closest point to our hotel , which made our ride more comfortable. From Kissamos we had a nice ferry ride to Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa island( be aware of waves during the ferry ride ). We had great time at the lagoon and the island , we also had luck with nice sunny and less windy weather. The scheduled timing was kept well .
The overall experience was absolutely fantastic. Not only was it such good value for money, the instructors and staff were so friendly and encouraging and felt very at ease even when slightly out of my comfort zone. You are collected from your hotel or close to it and brought to the most beautiful beach to start off the activities. The water is crystal blue which makes the snorkelling so enjoyable as you can see the wildlife surrounding you. While paddle boarding you are able to see the gorgeous coast of Crete.
Tour to Elafonisi was amazing - enjoyed stay at the beach even more as it was not too crowded. 4 hours at the beach seem long but actually you would like to stay longer. The tour guide (Simona) provider a lot interesting insights about Crete. We had lunch at traditional Cretan restaurant specialized in meat (unfortunately not many seafood options).
it was fun! the bus was on time, instructions were clear, going there was easy and you're comfortable . but the information about the islands were not there . at least to get some good info because on the boat there were a lot of people and the vol was so low i couldnt hear what the guide was saying
