Minoan's World the 9D Experience

1. Minoan's World the 9D Experience

After arriving to the museum, you will begin your 9D experience which will consist of two parts. You will begin with the 3D museum, which has life-like statues made of silicon and mesmerizing 3D art that comes to life through your phone's camera. Afterwards, the 9D cinema will take you back in time, with fully immersive and state of the art equipment that includes special effects such as air blasts, water blasts, snow, bubbles, and smoke. You will also discover that the epic movie itself has both a historical and mythological prospective. The movie stars Zeus as a baby and as a God, and the abduction of princess Europe by Zeus. You will also learn of Daedalus and Icarus (who flew too close to the sun and fell into the sea), king Minos, bull leaping, and finally, the eruption of the volcano in Santorini causing the devastating tsunami that ended the Minoan era.

Heraklion,Malia &Agia Pelagia:Day Trip to Knossos Palace

2. Heraklion,Malia &Agia Pelagia:Day Trip to Knossos Palace

The most famous landmark of Crete, Knossos, is the absolute “must” for everybody who decides to spend his or her vacation on our beautiful island. On one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Greece, we find the center of one of the most powerful civilizations of the ancient world and through the excavations, the legends and the history of the place we learn about its settlers: the Minoan people, the rulers of the Mediterranean. With its small palace, the room of murals, the royal tombs and the royal mansion, Knossos is probably the most significant token of a civilization that left such marks in history that can never be erased. The intricate structure of the palace corridors gave it the name Labyrinth, where, according to the myth, the legendary Minotaur used to live. The marvelous architectural plan, the use of rare and luxurious materials, the advanced techniques of construction and drainage system and the massive size of the palace of Knossos make it, even today, the most amazing sight on Crete. We return to the city to visit the newly renovated Archaeological Museum, which exhibits traditional architecture and preserves exquisite and valuable ethnographic and historical material from the ancient period of Cretan history. A stroll in the city of Heraklion will end up a perfect day –shopping in its modern stores, enjoying our coffee or lunch in one of its many restaurants or just exploring its superb medieval buildings. 10:00 Arrival Knossos Palace 12:00 Departure from Knossos Palace 12:20 Arrival Heraklion – Visit to Archaeological Museum (optional) 15:30 Departure from Heraklion DURATION: app. 7 hours STAY IN KNOSSOS: app. 2 hours STAY IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM: app. 2 hours STAY IN HERAKLION: app. 1 hour

What people are saying about Chania Regional Unit

We had a lot of fun on the mini tour. The guide took great photos of us in the 3D world. And the 9D movie was a great trip into the mionic world thanks to the moving seats. Since there were only two of us at that time, the projectionist asked us if we would like to see another 9D film, which we of course answered in the affirmative. We were then allowed to experience a roller coaster ride through the wild west and the gold mines of that time. Although only 30 minutes in total, the visit was definitely worth it.

A wonderful trip. The trip was also bearable with about 2 hours and went around pretty quickly. The stay there was simply fantastic. On Fridays the beach is really empty. Not even 100 people. It was just pleasant.

Was quite good, maybe a bit expensive 36, - for 3 adults, but there isn't much to see. It would tell us a lot about Greek mythology and you could have fun photos taken.

Absolutely worth seeing!

The idea is a lot of fun ... you are shaken up quite a bit. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Those who are in Chania should not miss this little fun

I think it would be really fun for kids. it's a pleasant way to spend 45 minutes
