We will start our tour from Lisbon, It will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive to Evora, on the way you will enjoy the natural scenery. When we will reach Evora you will be able to see the Água da Prata Aqueduct or the Silver Aqueduct, a great work of Renaissance hydraulic engineering. While passing it by we will stop at our first destination which is the Roman Temple of Diana, included in the classification by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Then you will be able to visit The Duke of Cadaval Palace Church, called Saint John the Evangelist, which has beautiful tilework, a golden altar, bones of monks, and admirable and beautiful examples of architecture. Then you will be able to visit the Cathedral of Evora which is within walking distance and is one of the oldest and most important local monuments. It was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1988. After this, you will have time to eat and shop in the nearby streets of Evora or buy souvenirs. Then we will head towards the famous Chaple of Bones and the Church of St.francis.The Chapel gets its name because the interior walls are covered and decorated with human skulls and bones. After visiting all these wonderful historical and amazing places we will head back to Lisbon, happily after having a memorable visit.

In Évora history crosspaths with us in every corner, in this big puzzle of historical monuments with more than 1000 years old. The walking tour starts at São Francisco church and the Bones Chapes, one of the must see places in Évora. Heading next to the medieval heart of the city where the Cathedral (the biggest in Portugal) can be found but also some antique testimonials like, Roman Temple cand the Roman baths. There will also be time for an olive oil tasting, free time to shop and to lunch … by any means skip the local food. Definitely not to skip the 2027 European Cultural Capital.

You'll be transported back to Roman times, then past the Moorish occupations, all the way through the middle ages, and then back to today's Portugal. You'll discover the history of the Roman Temple, often incorrectly referred to as the Temple of Diana. You will also enter the famous Sé Cathedral, the largest medieval cathedral of Portugal. It was built between 1186 and 1204 and was only finished to its final beauty in 1250. Your guide will show you the cloister, basilica and then you will go all the way up to the rooftop to have a fantastic birds-eye-view over the whole city. Then you will explore the creepy Bone Chapel, with its carefully arranged skulls and bones of about 5000 people that cover the walls and columns. It is supposed to make visitors reflect on the inevitable facts of life and death. Make sure you look up at the inscription on the entrance, which reads: "We bones that here are, await for yours."
