Continue to Montebello Lakes, a collection of 52 crystal clear lakes surrounded by pine forest. Here, you can dive into the refreshing blue waters, and even cross in a cayuco (a small, rustic wooden raft) to see beautiful orchids. In total, you will visit about 4 to 6 of the main lakes to experience the contrasting colors, which can vary from dark green, to bright emerald, turquoise, and even purple or red, depending on the mineral content. The pick up was an hour late without any communication, which was frustrating as we could have grabbed a coffee or something instead of just waiting in the dark. The driving was a little crazy, but that seemed to be the case in the whole region. The trip itself was really great. They provided an English translator that gave us information on the boat as well as a personal walking tour in Chiapa de Corzo. Canyon was beautiful. Look out points were cool. Had an amazing buffet lunch at a local spot in Chiapa de Corzo. The logistics just could have been improved.

The tour is definitely worth it. Cañón del Sumidero can be seen from all sides and Eduardo was a very good and patient tour guide. His background knowledge and English were excellent! We were also traveling in a very small group which made it that much more enjoyable. The value for money could be a bit better, but it is still an absolutely worthwhile tour.

Shuttle bus was slightly late and did not have proper air conditioning. The boat trip through the canyon was amazing! The captain made an effort to get close to all the points worth mentioning. So we came about 5 meters away from a beach full of crocodiles. The English guide told interesting stories about the canyon and its history. Recommended!

Great driver and it was a fun adventure! The waterfall is huge. I would have been happy only going to the last lake that had the island. The other two lakes were not necessary to go to in my opinion and only made the day longer. Great day trip though!

Pick up at the hotel, viewpoints at the watchtowers. The boat trip is really beautiful and a little free time in Chiapa de Corzo
