Sarajevo: Sarajevo City Market, Old Town Food Tasting Tour

1. Sarajevo: Sarajevo City Market, Old Town Food Tasting Tour

The Ultimate gastro experience is the name of a new tourist route, imagined as a time travel taking you to less or barely known places with the traditional cuisine of our country. The new route takes visitors to places they would not otherwise visit, and in that way, they are presented with where and what the locals buy, what they eat and how they eat every day, and what they prepare for special occasions. During the tour, the guide will also tell you more about the history of the city, but with the focus on the local food and the spots that are not necessarily the main tourist zones, but are close to such zones. So, let your senses follow the Sarajevo menu and tackle them with numerous flavorings. Stops along the tour:• Sarajevo City Market – Enjoy the smell of the market and taste the best dry meat in the country.• Markale Open Market – Fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farmers• Učkur Pita – A unique type of Bosnian traditional pie• Somun tasting – A special Sarajeva bread baked for only 20 seconds.• TipTop – Take a break and drink Boza.• Aščinica Stari Grad – Bey’s soup tasting.• Aščinica – Your senses are going wild when tasting Sarajvski sahan.• Ćevapi – The must have in Sarajevo.• Coffee process making – See how the coffee is processed. • Baklava dućan & Miris Dunja- Taste the famous baklava and end the tour with a cup of Bosnian coffee.

We just finished our tour with Alem and it was…fantastic. The tour, food, and guide are well worth the very reasonable price and your time. You will eat too much while listening to Alem’s extensive knowledge on all things Sarajevo. Our tour was just us, so we had his full attention as we asked a zillion questions about his city. You will get to try so many variations of Bosnian cuisine—-our favorites being the coffee and the final stop of vegetables stuffed with meat and spices. You will see the goodness of Sarajevo and a make a friend with Alem. Can’t recommend this tour enough! *not the best option for vegetarians. *Lots of walking but at a very reasonable pace and very few steps. (Ok for prams) *Plus you’re allowed to bring what you don’t finish with you for take-away

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!! Fariz our guide was awesome!! Great mix of history with plenty of tasty food stops. I love the walking tours, and this is like a walking tour with food! Probably hard to do the tour as a vegan, vegetarian seems possible.

Great tour. I learned a lot about the history and culture while exploring it through the food.

Excellent tour and Irfan is such an amazing tour guide!
