Private Dharavi Tour & City Sightseeing

6. Private Dharavi Tour & City Sightseeing

Known to many as ‘one of the largest slums in Asia’, we prefer to think of Dharavi as Mumbai’s beating heart. Through our educational walking tours, visitors experience a wide range of these business activities: recycling, pottery-making, embroidery, bakery, soap factory, leather tanning, poppadom-making and many more. We’ll also visit the residential areas of Dharavi. People from all over India have come to live in Dharavi, making it a microcosm of India. Our 2 hour+ introduction to Dharavi aims to give visitors a much more nuanced understanding of life and work in Mumbai slums. In the afternoon we will show you other, more traditional sights that Mumbai has to offer This tour is individually designed for you, and you can do and see as little or as much as you please. The tour guide, who also has detailed knowledge of the more traditional sights, will be with you for the day. He/she can give some suggestions for what to see, but ultimately, the itinerary is completely up to you.

The guide's leadership was very good. The driver was a bit "stormy" The guide carried a sign saying "Mystical Mombai" the GetyourGuide logo would have helped to identify the guide more quickly than ours Overall there is nothing else to complain about. The knowledge of German was good, Ords knowledge also. Good background knowledge.

Our guide Suraj was a great guy with a lot of local knowledge and sense for humor. The tour covered 8 different and interesting places. Sunday seemed to be an excellent day for doing this kind of trip as the traffic is rather remote. Overall great trip and great experience! Highly recommended!
