Walk the cobblestone street of Magstraede, and discover the seat of the Danish Parliament at Christiansborg Castle. Learn the story of Bishop Absalon, who founded Copenhagen in the 12th century. Look in the store windows of Stroget, the oldest shopping street in the world. See stunning examples of 17th-century architecture on Kongens Nytorv, including the Royal Danish Theatre and Hotel d’Angleterre, one of the first deluxe hotels in the world.  Admire the colorful houses of the waterside neighborhood of Nyhavn, watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Amalienborg Palace, and marvel at the impressive dome of the Marble Church (Frederik's Church) in Frederiksstaden. Our guide, Alia, was so lovely and a great source of information about the history of Copenhagen, its churches, architecture and culture. Our favorite part was seeing where Hans Christian Andersen wrote his fairly tails - from one tiny room preserved inside the famous Magasin department store! A walking tour is the best way to see any city - highly recommend this one!

My husband and I were immensely pleased with our tour. Our guide, Nacho, was a delight to be with. The information and tidbits were very interesting. Copenhagen is a wonderful city and we plan to return to explore even more with another GYG tour. I highly recommend the tour and will be sure to share our experience with everyone. Great job!

Nicolas was our guide and he’s a young, really nice and enthusiastic guy with loads of stories to tell. Also, he showed us some well known landmarks but also took us to places probably less known by tourists. We all enjoyed the tour very much. allround.
