Full description
You will be picked up from the Heraklion area and taken along the picturesque northeast coast through the gorge of St George, reaching the small fishing village of Elounda. Today Elounda is a popular holiday resort, often visited by celebrities for the luxurious white beaches. From there, take the boat to the small island of Spinalonga. The history and the culture of Spinalonga are laced with different diverse strands of history. In Ancient Greek times it served as a natural guard for the city of Olous; later it was used as a hide-out for Saracen pirates, turned into a fortress by the Venetians, and later settled by the Turks.  After your guided tour of the island, escape to the small sandy pirate bay of Kolokitha, where the boat will be anchored. Swim in the crystal clear waters, and then savor a delicious barbecue served on board. Later the boat returns to Elounda, where you take the bus to go to the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos. Enjoy shopping, exploring and marveling at the bottomless lake there. At the tour's end, the bus will take you back to Heraklion area.

Well organized. It was very busy on the ship all the way with the bbq. But that too went faster as I thought despite the crowds. Had to wait 45 minutes to an hour before the ship left the first time due to late arrivals. Guides true top and very enthusiastic, bus driver top, island and the beach of Kolokitha very beautiful (beware of sea urchins at the small rocks along the beach). We didn't feel like the last town you are going to (day was quite long).

The luck was that of having had a meteorologically excellent day, too many stops and delays for some passengers on the outward journey; beautiful location chosen for the stop for swimming and barbecue on the boat as the afternoon visit to Spinalonga. Dramatic breakdown of the bus during the journey to San Nicolò. Brava the guide and quick in recovering the means for the return home. The latter is also worth a visit. Upon returning to Heraklion, we traveled on a mini van.

Covered a lot of areas for the price

Meeting point was a bit confusing if you didn’t have them pick you up directly. Prefer next time, instead of giving you a map, provide exact address of where. I would prefer to provide one price for everything, instead of cost for excursion, then adding cost to be paid day of for food and boat. Also, I understand there was an additional fee to get into castle. Suggest that they sell tickets either on boat to avoid having to wait in line, taking anywhere between 15-20 minutes pending how busy they get. Makes getting inside a smoother and quicker experience. Emanula and Dimitrios were great and provided excellent service.
