Choose from tour options that offer hotel pickup from many of Crete's towns. Hop aboard a spacious bus and relax on the ride to Ierapetra. Take in the stunning port as you board the boat and embark on your adventure to Chrissi Island.

Cruise to this uninhabited island around that is around 15 kilometers south of Ierapetra. This small island is only 7 kilometers in length and covers an area of 4,743 kilometers. Admire its golden sands and its rare variety of Lebanon cedars.

Anchoring on the south side of the island, head to the nearby beach for swimming and sunbathing. Walk a path that runs through the island and the cedar forest to the otherworldly beach of Chrissi Ammos.

Have the option to hunt for seashells, check out the rockier coast of the island, or make the trek to the island’s lighthouse. Swim in turquoise waters and soak up the sun in this magical and totally undisturbed place of natural beauty.

Nice-coloured waters, only suitable for good swimmers and it is necessary to have water shoes. Also, for lunch we did not really understand why some managed to get warm food, while for us a coupon was needed of some sort. The boat was in poor state, but it is the only one making the trip. Overall, a good experience.

A lot better than expected! We were apprehensive of it after reading reviews but it turned out to be a great day! A few things I would recommend/ note for next time: the boat does stop a distance from the island and is approx. 5-10 minutes swim depending on ability, the boat supplies life jackets and floats if you aren’t a confident swimmer (I wasn’t!) so the swim really wasn’t that bad in the end. I would take a waterproof phone case/ bag if you want to take anything onto the island (beach towel, camera, shoes, snacks etc.) as whatever you want to take to the island you need to carry on the swim. Definitely take flip flops/ sandals to wear on the beach as rocks are quite sore on the feet. Overall a brilliant day out and feel like I stroked an item of a bucket list I didn’t even know I had!

Helen is great. Extremely helpful and nice, very impressed with her knowledge of languages and she says what’s important, but doesn’t over do it. The boat is nice, sunscreen is a must and you should know that the boat doesn’t dock at the island. You have to swim for 10min in shallow water, I found it fun, but prepare yourself. The island is amazing, a really nice experience.
