Get ready to be wowed by the gorge, as high limestone cliffs and quaint village create the background for a great hike. The walking tour from one end of Samaria gorge to the other is a challenging 18 kilometers. The terrain in the gorge is rough, rocky, and uneven and the hike is not suitable for anyone who has heart problems or is unfit, or for pregnant women. What people are saying about Crete

Great communications and organisation - it’s a ‘must do’ when in Crete. We drove from Chania … definitely worth the 2 hour drive … Fascinating experience and learned so much. Make sure you take an early tour …. ours was at 9.00 .. parking later will be difficult .. get a fast track ticket or better still a private tour … well worth the money … it’s a once in a lifetime experience .. and make sure you download the Get Your Guide App.

The audio guide was great and so helpful compared to just walking around on our own. There were a few closed viewpoints in the audio which made some of the directions confusing, but overall we had a great experience and it was super interesting and informative.

We went to the museum in Heraklion, loads of exhibits, followed by the page of Knossos, great experience overall.

It was a great challenge to complete the hike but Dani was very encouraging and a great motivator!

Wonderful guide who was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable and it was a fantastic experience
