Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Qoricancha & Inca Museum Upon your arrival in the City of Cusco, the local partners staff will wait for you at the airport, ready to transfer you to your hotel accommodation for the remainder of the tour. After settling in, your guide will take you on a visit to the beautiful temple of Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), one of the most important temples in the ancient city of Cusco. Following Qoricancha you will visit the Inca Museum and learn more about the ancient cultures of Peru, seeing first-hand the archaeological collection of Andean art whilst introducing yourself to the Inca civilization and their cosmo-vision. During your day you'll also get to visit Sacsayhuaman, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. In the evening you will lodge at the Ayni Cusco Hotel or equivalent.  Day 2: Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu Starting you second day of adventure, you will be picked up from your hotel and begin travelling to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo for a journey by train to the town of Machu Picchu. Another short bus ride will take you up the mountain to the site entrance. Your guide will be with you at every moment to inform you about the site and answer any questions. The guided tour through the Sanctuary will last roughly 2-hours, then you will have time to wander as you wish and continue to explore this wonderful other-worldly place. Later, you will begin your return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and rest before a late afternoon train to Ollantaytambo. Following your journey by train, your land transport will transfer you to Cusco and back to your Hotel. Day 3: Free time and Airport Transfer On day 3 you will enjoy free time at your own leisure to explore the historic Center of downtown Cusco. Depending on your flight time, you can ask your guide for recommendations on what to do. Your local guide will also ensure that you arrive at the airport or cruise ship terminal on time for your next stop.
