The tour of Machu Picchu was amazing! Getting to and from Aguas Calientes was so easy and someone was waiting for us at the train stations. The hotel pick up was a bit chaotic, they couldn’t find our hotel and left a guide to walk around the neighbourhood to find us. She didn’t speak English so we had trouble communicating and then we proceeded to squish into a taxi with the guide to meet the bus in the main square. It all worked out but it was a bit stressful. They didn’t drop us off back at our hotel and instead dropped us off in the main square at 10pm, which was much later than we expected considering we were done the tour at 3pm. Overall it was a great tour though!

All good on the way out, all on time, the guide Guido handles information very well and is supported by images from books, he was always concerned about the whole group. A 10 for Guido. The problem was on the way back, a considerable disorder and delay of the return train (more than an hour) and when arriving in Ollantaytambo the guide of the Van was very rude and in a bad mood, he did not let him go to the bathroom and treated him very badly. my daughter because she was waiting for me to come out of the bathroom.

The planned protests caused our trip to be delayed, but we were only notified less than 12 hours prior that we wouldn’t be able to go. They refused to refund our trip, so we bought new flights leaving cusco to be able to go on their first available Machu pichu trip two days later. We were guaranteed that we would be back in time for our new 10:30pm flight. We were told last minute we needed to meet them at their office the night before at 6pm. Then they told us that the train they booked would not get us back until 11pm. They first told us it was impossible to changed trains, but then had us pay extra money for them to book us on an earlier train. The transport the day of arrived 45 minutes later than our pickup window. To be clear. The guide is only with you during the Machu pichu tour and bus ride there Miscommunication between workers made planning the trip very stressful. Our guide Joel was great though! The best part of our trip, very knowledgeable.
