Ravenna is the last shelter of Dante, the father of the italian language, and it is the city that hosts his grave which is the starting point of our tour. Retrace the traces left by the Supreme Poet in Ravenna during the fourteenth century and all the following years, visiting not only his tomb, but also the Basilica of San Francesco that hosted his solemn funerals on September 13th, 1321 and walking aroud the city center to discover Dante Alighieri’s adventures in his last years, the exile, the life in the city, the death and the struggling dispute for his remains, as well as the enhancements of the sepulchre over the centuries.

Although it is a town like many others in Italy, Ravenna boasts a very important artistic heritage, cultural richness, and historical roots. A visit could not possibly exclude the discovery of its most important treasures. Literally, Ravenna is a place that must be seen a piece by piece. And it could not be otherwise, given the number of mosaics (famously made of pieces) that this locality preserves. With this activity, accompanied by a 100% local guide you will go around the city streets discovering all its important historical vicissitudes that mix distant eras, Empires, Barbarian poets, and great stories of conquests and conspiracies. You won't have to think about anything as admission to major monuments such as the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Basilica of St. Apollinare Nuovo, and others will already be booked for you. But 3 hours is by no means enough to discover all the beauty of the city and since the tour gives you access to many other monuments in the city therefore you can continue to explore the city even after the guided tour is over.

Through this walk, we want to show you the spaces and actors that portray Ravenna in a different way, traveling between history and taste: discovering the "Mosaic Capital" and concluding with an aperitif inside the Covered Market based on Italian Spritz.

The most exclusive way to discover some of the jewels in Romagna is by comforably leaving Bologna on a car driven by a private chafeur. Departure is set at your address in Bologna (at a hotel, accommodation facility or wherever you like in the city's urban area) to set off for Ravenna. The city of mosaics and Byzantine art, UNESCO heritage site as well as resting place for the supreme poet Dante is waiting for you. Around 10:30 am, upon your arrival our guide will be waiting for you to take you to discover this incredible city, with a walking tour of about two hours and 30 . The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, San Vitale will be just some of the most important sights you will get to discover during this walk through history. You will also have the opportunity to ask the guide to modify the itinerary in a way closer to your interests. At the end of your visit, you can continue sightseeing freely or regain your strength with a free lunch at one of the city's many restaurants, before meeting your driver again and departing for Rimini. Departure time is set for 3 p.m. to arrive in Fellini's city around 4 p.m. Near the scenic Arch of Augustus, your guide will be waiting for you to set off to discover the Roman Ariminum, and see with your own eyes some important testimonies of different eras here and there in the city: The Arch of Augustus, Tiberius Bridge, Castel Sismondo are just some of the monuments you will have the opportunity to admire. If you are curious about the history of the city linked to the famous director Federico Fellini, the guide will also be able to take you to Borgo San Giuliano, a picturesque area of the city full of mural decorations that inspired the director of "La Dolce Vita." Around 6:45 p.m. it will then be time to depart in your car to return to Bologna, at the address you indicated, with a wealth of memories and curiosities all to be shared.
