Delphi lies 180 kilometers northwest of Athens, on the slopes of mountain Parnassus, close to Arachova, a beautiful mountainous town. The route to Delphi is amazing, full of sensational, natural landscapes and cute country villages. Delphi is a magical place where history meets with mythology. During antiquity (6th century B.C.), Delphi was the most significant point of reference for ancient Greeks, known throughout the ancient Greek world and beyond, as the sanctuary of Apollo, god of light and knowledge, and the shrine of his high priestess and seer, Pythia. Both kings and mortals consulted the notorious Pythia, about their future. She would even predict the outcomes of battles and wars. Isn’t it exciting? Common people would consult her as well if they could afford it. Nowadays, Delphi is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece. Since it is located on a mountain slope, divided into two levels by the main road, the views you will enjoy are out of this world. The site and the museum is a must-visit for people from all over the world who want to learn all about its remarkable history and also admire an awe-inspiring location of raw beauty. The Delphi museum is one of the most notable in Greece, hosting treasures of exquisite beauty and historical significance, such as the Sphinx of Naxos, the famous Charioteer of Delphi, the Kouros brothers, and many more. Dare to walk on Delphi’s sacred paths, under the strong Greek sun, and you might hear Apollo’s seer whispering her prophecies.

Piacevole visita

I really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend this, particularly if you are interested in ancient Greek and Greek mythology. Be prepared for a lengthy journey by coach and not returning back until approximately 19:00 which is due to the heavy traffic in Athens. The coach was luxurious and the drive was very good also. The time spent in the museum was not as long as I would have liked, and having opted out of lunch, you then have some spare time in a village whilst lunch is accommodated for those that did opt for lunch. I would had preferred to miss the village personally. However, the village was pretty and scenic. I received an email stating start time of 08:15 and to be 15 minutes early so I arrived at 08:00. However the tour did not start until 08:30 as originally stated on my paperwork. The tour overall was great made more interesting by our guide!

Amazing tour with Marianna - she was incredibly knowledgeable and sweet, making sure the tour group were okay the whole time. She made the tour interactive and we really learned so much about the Oracle and the Delphi temple. Really recommended tour!

Mariana was a great guide with a wealth of knowledge. Thoroughly enjoyed the day visiting the ancient ruins and learning about the history. Also, The lunch was delicious.

Easy to use, very good instructions to find the archaeological sites. Value for money! Cheaper than the ticket from the official museum and site.

Had an amazing trip! I would highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Delphi, take this package!
