From Hamburg or Cuxhaven: Catamaran Day Trip to Heligoland

1. From Hamburg or Cuxhaven: Catamaran Day Trip to Heligoland

Take an exciting day trip from to Heligoland, Germany's only island not in the vicinity of the mainland. Over 40 miles off the coast, the island is known for its spectacular red cliffs, upon which sit the white sands of sprawling dunes, surrounded by unspoiled nature. The boat departs from Hamburg early, with the ride lasting approximately 3.5 hours. Zip down the Elbe river to Cuxhaven and out onto the North Sea on a sleek, ultra-modern catamaran, passing the port of Cuxhaven. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, gazing out across the vast waters from the open-air deck, or from the comfortable cabin. Modern flat screens all over the ship will teach you fun facts about the Elbe, Northern Germany, and the North Sea during the cruise. Arriving on Heligoland, wander the stunning island for approximately 4 hours. Gaze out over the dunes and onto the north sea, before doing some shopping — all tax free because of the island’s duty-free laws. Soak in the idyllic charm of the area, before hopping back on to the comfortable boat for your trip back to Hamburg.

The tour is great.

The boat is great with a fast calm ride and a good view from almost anywhere. The culinary offer is sufficient for the short drive. You have to have experienced Helgoland; a two or three day tour is probably the best. But even with the only 4-hour stay you get a good overview of the island. I don't think you can do big business with duty-free shopping. (It's a good thing.)

In itself the excursion was great, but unfortunately the time was too short with a 3-hour stay to explore the island, although 4.5 hours was actually said. But otherwise I can't complain, everything was great so far.

Had a lady from the service staff who was unfortunately very unfriendly, but the rest of the staff was friendly. The captain's announcements were way too quiet so that no information about the sights was received.

Punctual to the minute, very good organization, very friendly staff, good food & comfortable seats, 4 hours stay are enough to explore the island and still have a nice cup of coffee

You can also buy the trip in Hamburg directly at the counter / Landungsbrücken, but check beforehand whether there is enough space on the day of the trip.
