Full description

Experience Dubai as it was a half-century ago on a full-day safari of the desert dunes. Following a pick-up from your hotel, head out to the desert landscape and explore it from the back of a camel. Traveling like the ancient nomads, enjoy a stunning journey through the desert on a traditional camel convoy. This is the most authentic way to trace the footsteps of Bedouin travelers. Upon arrival at a Bedouin camp, soak up the atmosphere of the gentle flames from traditional lamps nestled inside a private royal retreat.

Demonstrations of traditional activities, such as henna painting, falconry displays, and authentic folk music and dance will keep you entertained (not available during the Holy month of Ramadan). Learn the traditional ways of making bread according to recipes handed down from generation to generation. End with a scrumptious dinner under the stars as history comes to life in an ageless landscape.

Everything was carefully planned and very accommodating from the hotel drop-off/pick-up to the variety of activities offered throughout the day. The crew was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. I made new friends during the experience that made the excursion even more impressionable. And the food was AMAZING! Thank you Platinum Heritage!

Great experience We can recommend the desert safari with Platinum Heritage to anyone who does not want a lot of hype and who values authenticity. The camel ride in small groups (one guide each with 3 camels, of which only two were "occupied") was fun, the falcon show was very informative and the camp impressed with its atmosphere, the variety of food and activities on offer, such as henna Painting. Special thanks go to our "guide" Amir, who takes excellent care of us and has brought the national culture closer with a variety of information. It was a thoroughly successful afternoon / evening!

Amazing experience - definitely a must-do when in Dubai!

Very well organised; really fun and friendly staff; a good 45-50 minute camel ride; great food at the camp; perhaps not the sand-only scenery with steep sand dunes you see in Sahara desert (i.e. there are some desert bushes and plants and a fence at parts of the ride), but still very impressive! Although I was afraid it would, it didn't feel too 'touristy'.
