Full description

A visit to the magical home of Guinness is a must on anyone’s trip to Dublin. Guinness Storehouse is located in the heart of the Guinness Brewery at St. James’s Gate. Housed in an old fermentation plant, the 7-story visitor experience tells the history of the world-famous Guinness Stout. Your adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building’s giant, the pint-shaped heart of glass. As you make your way through the Guinness Storehouse, you’ll discover what goes into making the Black Stuff – the ingredients, the process, and the passion. Learn about the different award-winning advertising campaigns and slogans used to market Guinness. Having traveled through more than 250 years of history, end your tour at the Gravity Bar where you’ll receive a pint of Guinness. Relax and enjoy the spectacular 360-degree views over Dublin.

It's a great experience and family friend, with a wide swath of history and achievements. My 13 year old son enjoyed it as much as I did. The queuing process is awkward. There should be a sign that reads (You can either queue and wait, or go online for a fixed entrance time). Additionally, when you book online I don't recall seeing an option to to the add-ons in the storehouse (like learn to pour a Guinness).

We loved this tour, it's really worth the time. I advise you to save at least 3 hours for this visit because we had another visit scheduled for a close hour and we had to reschedule because we were enjoying it so much. The store, right at the entrance, makes you want to buy everything but I just advise you not to waste time in the store at the beginning and come back at the end, because that way you can control the time much better. During the visit, we were able to learn more about the Guinness manufacturing process. In the middle of the route there is a café with snacks and sandwiches. One of the floors has a tasting room, which it makes sense to visit before heading to the bar at the top, as they teach you the right way to drink a Guinness. We waited about 10/15 min to enter this tasting room. Right after that, there's a Gravity Bar, which is an incredible experience, super lively, with a DJ and where they offer a pint. We liked it so much that we wanted to go back the next day.

The Guinness factory was really unexpected. I didn’t expect it to be so factual, so big and just so interactive. The self guided tour takes roughly 2-3 hours and the pint of Guinness at the end is super refreshing and to enjoy it in the observatory with amazing 360 views is even better. Definitely wear comfy shoes, but I would highly recommend the tour anyone visiting Dublin/Ireland!
