About ECHO Trails My name is René Welti and I am a Swiss-American based in Lucerne and the founder of ECHO Trails. In my 25+ year professional career in the tourism industry, I have led many active tours to and around Switzerland. Living in Lucerne I am now turning my passion for the Swiss outdoors. In 2010 I became a certified Swiss hiking guide in order to share the incredible scenery of the area. From May to the end of October, I will lead energizing and inspirational day hikes as well as bike tours with all tours starting from the Lucerne train station. My goal is to give you a “WOW” experience! I invite you to join one of our English-speaking, guided day tours to experience the beauty of the area. ECHO Trails’ unique hiking and biking tours take you to places selected for their historic or cultural interest as you will learn aspects such as where Switzerland began in 1291 and hear the iconic William Tell story. Part legend, part fact, this fascinating story describes the beginning of Switzerland’s 700+ year history with its beginning in the Lake Lucerne region. All tours include fantastic vistas and incredible Alpine scenery. The pace of the tours is leisurely with time to take photos. A stop at a local, scenic restaurant is always included. All tours work in tandem with Switzerland’s efficient public transportation system as we use local buses, trains and boats for our transfers.
