Really enjoyed the underground vaults terror tour. The guide was very knowledgeable, with just the right amount of humour, and giving us a good basic history of the old town and vaults. The tour of the vaults itself was interesting but short - I thought we’d maybe see more and go deeper into them. I enjoyed the tour, and thought the guide was excellent.

We did the late night underground vault tour on 12/12 to round off our long weekend in Edinburgh. Our tour guide Adrian was fantastic - he had the perfect balance between story telling and humour to keep the tour interesting. We were disturbed by a drunken man at the beginning of the tour on the royal mile who was unrelenting at trying to spoil the tour by following us, yelling and picking fights, but Adrian handled it incredibly well and managed to de-escalate the situation. The experience inside the vaults was amazing. My partner is absolutely convinced that he experienced some paranormal activity (I myself am not convinced). The stories shared about the people who once used and lived in the vaults was so interesting. Adrian did a great job at creating a spooky atmosphere which really heightened the tension. I would hugely recommend to anyone who enjoys a bit of history or likes being spooked. This was easily the best thing that we did whilst we were in Edinburgh.

It was definitely a unique way to experience Edinburgh but I highly recommend it. Many thanks to our guide Fraser who narrated the stories very well and even incorporated his own experiences as well. We definitely enjoyed his Scottish humor too, his jokes really helped me survive through the tour.
