Good interesting tour by Mercat tours. Our tour guide Mark was very good at telling ghostly stories as well as giving us a little humour to lighten the mood. Also warned us of any trip hazards as well as giving us a historical insight into Edinburgh. Company provided audio gadgets which helped hearing the tour guide. Would recommend if your into ghostly tales and don't mind scary things.

This tour was great our guide was knowledgeable and his voice was perfect, he grabbed my attention from the get go, all the stories gave me goose bumps and was a nice walka round, nothing strenuous, the underground vaults were interesting a little dark so be prepared definitely need trainers or walking boots! Really enjoyed it would recommend for those who don't like things too scary but want a little history tour with some cool stories

I took my best friend to Edinburgh for the night for her birthday and bought this tour as an extra surprise (we love that kind of thing). We all met at a set location for 7.30pm and the tour started right at that meeting point. You go from place to place and the host tells you the history of each location, covering topics such as witchcraft, body snatchers and ghost sightings. It was such a different experience to anything I’d done before and I would highly recommend it for couples, friends or family. I think it would scare younger children so I wouldn’t take them along. Most of the places we visited had really uneven ground so make sure you have sensible shoes on and also a warm jacket. The host really made all the difference to the experience and he was fantastic at his job! His character was perfect for the tour.
