a general good physical health would be an advantage as you have to climb quite high, the hills can be really steep in places, but all round a brilliant day out, plenty of picnic spots and refreshments along the way, lovely restaurant and cafe too, park for the little ones, parking is reasonably priced and easy to get too

If you don’t have any mobility problems then the zoo is lovely. Unfortunately it doesn’t cater very well for disabled visitors. The parking is inadequate, it’s a trek from the car park to the entrance and worse going back as it’s uphill and it is not possible to reserve a mobility scooter (of which there are not enough) so unless you’re in first thing you’re stuck. If you’re young and fit then it’s a delight.

Since we are from Vienna and know Schönbrunn, it is difficult for other zoos to keep up. Very nice zoo, looks a bit sad in some corners (overgrown). Located on the mountain and it is sometimes a bit exhausting. But very nice view from the top. All in all worth a visit.
