I ordered this tour for my boyfriends birthday as he enjoys trying beers of all kind. He wanted me to join the tour along with him, which I agreed to, but I’m not a beer person (enjoy the sour beer occasionally but that’s it). We had the luxury of having a private tour as a person didn’t show up on the day. The guide, Jennie, was excellent and catered to our tastes by asking what things we enjoyed and adjusting our route to hit places with a wide range we’d both enjoy. Along with the history of beer making we talked about everything under the sun. Despite me not liking beer that much, I tried new beer that I liked (and there were plenty of beers to try with 4 samples at every pub then a glass of whichever we liked best).

Highly recommended if you like beer and Scotland!

The city walk with the beer tasting was extremely exciting. Our guide, Jenny, who is a home brewer, talks enthusiastically about how to brew beer, how beer brewing developed in Scotland and Edinburgh, and a little about what it looks like today. All this while we were allowed to taste an exciting selection of Scottish beer, as well as some different types of malt.

Interesting, informative & knowledgeable guide. (Jenny)

A slow start but once we got to our first venue Jenny seemed to relax. A small group of just the 8 of us meant we could discuss info & ask questions. Very interesting & informative. Nice venues & knowledgeable guide. (Jenny) Would recommend even to non beer drinkers like myself....
