Your 3-country adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Colmar. On your way to Germany, you’ll pass by the by the fortified village of Neuf-Brisach, a UNESCO world heritage site dating back to the late 17th century. From there, you'll drive to Germany and visit Freiburg, one of the treasures of German state Baden-Württemberg. Amble through the streets that seem ripped straight from a fairytale, taking note of the channels of water that runs right alongside sidewalks. Afterwards, you'll pass through another border bound for Basel in Switzerland. Divided in 2 parts by the Rhine river, the city has much to offer, with its picturesque bridges, narrow, winding alleyways, and stunning cathedrals. Wandering through the medieval town of Great Basel, look for the unique cultural aspects of the city that differentiate it from other Swiss towns. Begin your tour at the Strasbourg bus station where you'll board a comfortable heated bus and receive audio guides with information for your Christmas market tour. On your first stop, explore the Riquewihr Christmas market during a one-hour visit. Gaze in awe at the illuminated monuments and buildings in this dazzling Alsatian village. After Riquewihr, head back onto the wine route and pass by numerous little Alsatian villages all beautifully decorated for the occasion until you reach the village of Kaysersberg. The authentic and artisanal Christmas market in Kaysersberg traditionally welcomes you all four Advent weekends on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On the other days of the week, you will find there a concentrate of Alsace: a historic city center filled with charm with beautiful old half-timbered houses, magnificent corner oriel windows, cobbled streets, the river that crosses the city and, overlooking the village, the medieval castle. Then it's time to hit the road again to the third stop in Colmar. Watch how the Christmas markets light up the famous town and create different atmospheres to suit the neighborhoods. Enjoy a 3-hour stroll at leisure and explore the market at your own pace. Savor seasonal treats and have another traditional cup of mulled wine. At around 7:30 PM, take the bus and return to the meeting location in Strasbourg and finish off the tour with wonderful Christmas memories of the Alsatian Christmas markets.

Our Host Didier picked us up on time and made us feel very welcome straight away. We spent just the right amount of time in 4 stunning villages, learning lots of interesting facts. Didier was mindful of our pace and language differences. Stopped off for a local Alsatian lunch, and finished the day wine tasting at a vineyard.

Didier gave a wonderful tour of the region, getting us up close to the most beautiful parts of each village. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region, sharing the stories of Alsace while also letting us explore the cities a bit on our own.

Such a great day! Didier was the perfect host & guide throughout the entire tour of the 4 wonders of Alsace. Tour started on time, we covered a lot of ground at a relaxed pace, and drank in the beauty of the region. Highly recommend!

Good choice of small cities and towns to visit. All close by. At most 40 minutes by car from one to the other. Eguisheim is 5-10 minutes from Colmar.
