our local guide (Isra) was fantastic. we feel very lucky to have net Isra who's knowledge of ancient Egypt is at the Museum standard. which is not surprising how she has a lengthy Cairo Museum employment studying her fav subject. she showed us things at the Pyramids never mentioned in any TV documentary. it really was a 5 star service. We where even collected by car from the Hilton hotel, because when we got off the bus from Hurghada, we got a bit lost. Isra and her driver told us to stay at the Hilton and they came straight there and collected us. Cairo is a mad place to drive and tbh I couldn't do it, but we felt very safe with our very experienced driver who also looked after our valuables when we left the vehicle. He also knew a great place for lunch. Isra and the driver work brilliantly together and we can not thank them enough for looking after us all day, and it really was a full, packed day. 5 star guide, driver, excursions. Highly recommend. Thank You Isra and Driver.
My wife & I booked a private tour through the "Get Your Guide" app. We were lucky enough to be assigned Ahmed Elsayed. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and passionate about his job. If you book a tour, I recommend that you specifically request Ahmed Elsayed. Highlights of the Cairo tour included riding camels at the second viewing point at the pyramids where all three are in view. In addition, the museum was filled with extremely impressive artifacts. We actually ended up booking a second tour with Ahmed Elsayed two days later to Alexandria. On that tour we visited the Kim al-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel, the Alexandria Library and had a lovely meal on the waterfront.
This was an excellent tour. It is a private tour, so there is some flexibility. For example, I really wanted to ride a camel at the pyramids, but I had no interest in shopping in the souk and we adjusted the schedule for that. My guide, Marwa, was excellent. Her tour of the pyramids and the Cairo museum was very informative. In addition to the educational part, she was interesting, engaging, open and fun to spend the day with. I joined a 2 week tour the next day with a male guide, and Marwa's perspective of Egyptian culture was very different.
The tour was exceptional. The tour guide Ashraf very knowledgeable and kind also the driver Draz very helpful, both of them was awesome making me comfortable as i am a women travel alone from the get go until the end of the tour and respectful. The pyramid, the food and the museum was excellent. Ashraf is exceptional explaining with the Egypt history and I learned so much and fluent in english. The baazar its ok but still enjoyable also i love learning the papyrus. Overall the best day ever, will recommended 100%. Thanks so much!!!
We waited outside the gates of the museum but the rep with the tickets was waiting inside, this could have been made clearer to us on the information provided. We didn't have a guide just used 'Skip the Line' which as it happened there was no queue (due to the lack of tourists because of the Coronavirus) but when there is a queue it would be well worth doing.
