Full description
Start your day with pick up from your hotel and head out on Route 11, bordering Lake Argentino. Travel 80 kilometers from El Calafate to the Moreno Glacier. On the drive out of El Calafate, you can see beautiful Lake Argentino with its Redonda Bay and try to spot its wide variety of birds. Within the first 40 kilometers, you’ll travel through the Patagonian Steppe, then enter the national park. You will arrive at the “Curva de los Suspiros” or “Sigh Curve”, the first panoramic viewpoint of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Enjoy a short stop to take pictures before moving on to Bajo las Sombras Port. You will have the option of taking an additional one-hour boat trip through the southern arm of the Iceberg Channel in order to see different views of the Perito Moreno Glacier Wall. Back at the Port, a system of balconies and footbridges allow you to enjoy walks along different paths and to take in amazing views of the glacier. After some free time for walking and lunch, make your way back to El Calafate.

The pick up was on time. The staff were professional and very friendly, and gave great commentary and explanations of glaciers. The day was well paced the lunch was fantastic and the time spent at each point of interest was ideal. If you are short on time this must be the one you start with during your stay..

Well organised, pick up and drop back to hotel. Informative guide (spoke good English). Fantastic experience seeing this gigantic glacier up close , both on boat and from walkway! Just a note, excursion called trip with ‘‘optional boat safari’ - wrongly and perhaps stupidly I assumed this was included in the price, as no extra cost was mentioned. We had in fact to pay an extra 1000 pesos (about £12.50) each to go on the boat - but well worth it!

Excellent guide and driver. Very well organized. All adults and nice people on the mini-van, always on time. Naza, the guide was very nice and provided very good information about the glaciers and truly seemed to care about us. The driver, JuanMa, stopped when he saw a black eagle on the road so that we could take pictures. He also pointed out a view of the Torres del Paine on the road to Perito Moreno...it was a beautiful sunny day. The boat ride to the other side of the glacier was also nice, on the smaller boat, with less crowds.
