The 7 Best Things to Do in Delphi

Steeped in history and wrapped in mythology, Delphi was the center of the Hellenic
world. A visit to the sanctuary on the slopes of Mt. Parnassus was also the opportunity
to consult with the Oracle at the Temple of Apollo and hear a prophecy for the future.

The Spring of Castalia divides the site into two: the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, which
includes the circular Tholos, and the Sanctuary of Apollo and its ruins.

The Sacred Way

The inclined path, along which the lone Treasury of the Athenians once brimmed with
riches among many others of its kind, zigzags through the Sanctuary of Apollo.

Temple of Apollo

Once a prominent feature at the end of the Sacred Way, visitors entered the temple to
consult with the Oracle. Her answers were ambiguous at best and open to
interpretation.

What people are saying about Delphi, Greece

All good apart from being asked to download trippi app the night before. The app runs on Bluetooth and depends on signal quality and number of users it often drops out. But it’s a complete waste of time because you can hear every word your guide says anyway. With trippi you just get it again through your headphones 3 seconds later. If you are far enough away that you can’t hear your guide then you also far enough away for the Bluetooth to not work ! Waste of time

Delphi Full-Day Tour from Athens Reviewed by Adam, 08/31/2020

Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking but worth the visit. Guide Starranla was very knowledgable and made the trip with the Greek mythology. The only negative was the allocated time in the restaurant. We booked the lunch which was a 3 course meal. Food was lovely but the time in the restaurant was too short and would have been better to have another 20 mins or so.

Dmitrius was such a fantastic speaker & tour guide! The bus ride was smooth and we greatly enjoyed walking around the Delphi site and museum, learning many facts and figures about the history and significance of this area. We are studying the history of Greece (Herodotus) and this tour made Delphi come alive for us! Thank you so much!
