Milford Sound Nature Cruise
- Duration: 2 hours
Wonderful guide who feed us so much local geographical and historical information, as well as Maori mythology, flora, fauna, bird life, plus weather patterns and effects etc. Descriptions of the different walks were accurately explained so that the correct choice of a tramp could be made based upon one's physical ability. Obviously Milford itself lived up to all our hopes and expectations. Would highly recommend exploring with Trips and Tramps.
It was a lovely day and the whole trip was very enjoyable. Picnic lunch was also great. However, the bus driver was very annoying on the way there. Although he did drive the bus well, and gave some interesting information, he seemed to think it was necessary to make silly racist jokes about Australians and give unwanted opinions about Auckland, politics and suchlike. The trip back was much better as he had far less to say.
This was an amazing experience and an experience I advise all New Zealanders need to experience for themselves. You can read about it or hear about it from other people but to experience Milford Sound and Queens town for yourself is an experience you will never forget or regret. The views are spectacular and we are so lucky to be able to see and live in such a beautiful country.
We had a fantastic cruise - and the broadcast dialogue from the guide was absolutely wonderful. He had a great sense of humour. We were very lucky that after days of wind and rain, the sun came out just in time for our cruise so we were able to see lots of waterfalls that otherwise would not have been present. The several permanent waterfalls were great to see as well.
Travelling with my wee one with ASD is bit complicated good thing even though she got melt down while waiting .some might judge her i know beacuse some are looking at us pretty annoyed.but we still manage to enjoy it. Crews were quiet friendly.
