What people are saying about Kew Gardens
I was glad we had booked the first slot as the Brentford Gate car park (with Blue Badge parking) filled up quickly. Due to extra security, getting into anywhere is more time consuming at the moment, but once we were into the gardens, we felt safe wandering around. There are toilets almost immediately, with a separate huge accessible one. I walk with two crutches so was glad to reach the cafe area to grab a drink and rest. Only 2 adults are currently allowed into the excellent children’s play area which is understandable, so our family group had to split up so my 2 year old great niece could have fun, which I was sad to miss. We did not go any further on this visit as the purpose of our visit was to see each other in a safe outdoors environment. It’s worth checking exactly what still remains open due to current Covid restrictions.
Was really easy to get there and you are greeted with little markets selling fresh baked goods. All the staff are very lovely, kind and helpful. There is so much to see and it’s wonderful to see everything well maintained, with lots of benches around to sit down if you feel tired, or need some rest.
The gardens are expansive, and very well-maintained. Although some of the buildings are closed, there was plenty to see at the beginning of October. There are lots of cafes, and what we ate was pretty good. My only quibble is that it's all a bit expensive, but I guess that's London.
Despite COVID and the showery weather we had a great time. There were plenty of indoor spaces for when it rained and the gardens in autumn are stunning! A word of advice, take a picnic and bottled water with you. Food and drink is pricey.
Quick easy entrance. No big queues. I’m a photographer and absolutely loved the glass houses. Being able to take close-up pictures of huge tropical plants and Lily pads, in this country, was an absolute treat!
