Having not gone dolphin watching before, I have nothing to compare with, but I really enjoyed this boat trip. Seth and Sid were professional and helpful and copied with a multilingual body with no problem. The boat was a rib with twin outboards, and you straddle padded benches, so it's easy to keep your balance while taking pictures. We found plenty of dolphins, which leaped around and beside the boat. They are quite hard to photograph as you do not always see them underwater before they break surface, and you find yourself taking many pictures of just water where they just dived back in. A fun challenge. We also saw birds. mainly gannets, graceful in the air and dramatic when they dive. Also skua and some others. We coasted slowly back past the riverside monuments, Belem Tower etc, getting excellent views of them, amidst a local yacht regatta and laser + oppy dinghies. The trip lasted almost 4 hours, and I was a bit cold at the end. I should have put more clothing under my anorak!
The ocean and the coastline of sesimbra on a kayak is an experience of its own. But that's not all you get. Enter Gabriel, a nature angel in disguise as a guide. From one second to the next you will be giggling and then transfixed by his utmost respect for the ocean. Wonderful company. (if you go on a 'less' beautiful day - you might get as lucky as we did and end up with an essentially private tour which felt like kayaking with a friend - ask him about the orcas and the netflix documentary 'My octopus teacher'!)
The ride was amazing. The hosts were very welcoming and polite. The boat was clean and on point with all the current restrictions. I was solo traveling and I didn't feel alone for a second. The hosts explained all the main attractions nicely and presented some fun facts. The green wine they served was a good catch. When I got too cold because of the autumnal winds, the hosts kindly provided me with blankets. Definitely a must-do for any traveller wanting to experience something extraordinary. Thanks
I had a very enjoyable tour. It was very peaceful without a tour guide barking at you. They came around and spoke individually to groups so it gave an opportunity to just listen to the music and enjoy the view. I appreciated the blanket when the wind got cold. I enjoyed it so much that I told my sister about it and she went with her partner two days later.
Dont miss it. its so nice the full ride, the staff was really nice and explain everything. the sunset was magical. so worth it. very easy to find the boat. and after eat in the restatuant near the port. it was a nice evening indeed. thanks
