Come along on this interesting and varied excursion to discover the southernmost point of Florida. After the pick-up at your hotel in Miami Beach in the morning, your journey takes you towards Key Largo and then on to Key West over 42 islands and the magnificent Overseas Highway 1, one of the most spectacular roads in the USA. The route crosses many bridges including the Seven Mile Bridge. If you don't wish to have hotel pick up, you'll simply start the day in Key West and begin your adventure from there. You reach Key West before noon. Here you have at least 5 hours of free time to explore the city on your own. The tranquil Caribbean town was once the adopted home of the famous writer Ernest Hemingway. Visit his favorite bar “Sloppy Joes” or the old Victorian house where Hemingway once lived. Other highlights are the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum and the buoy marking the southernmost point of the USA, just 145 kilometers from Cuba. On your way back to Miami Beach you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Overseas Highway 1. You can also choose to take a glass-bottom boat trip. During the 2-hour tour, see the reef and discover the diverse underwater world of the Florida Keys. Alternatively, take a 2.5-hour dolphin watching boat trip and go snorkeling. See the playful animals up close in their natural habitat. Then put on your diving equipment and go snorkeling in the coral reef, where you'll see Florida's underwater world right in front of your eyes.
