What people are saying about Naxos Town
Excellent all day tour of Naxos with female guide whos name I dont' recall, but who was a great guide and was very informative. Our driver handled the windy roads, particularly up the mountain well. We visited Demeter Temple, Halki village for Kitron tasting, Apeiranthos village, Apollonos village for lunch and a swim, Kouros of Apollonos statue, and an olive museum for tastings and Oia for sunset, with drop back to hotel. Great value for €25, a comparable bus day tour we did was €50 on Santorini, where everything is a bit more expensive than the other islands. Day is long, and you often don't have much time at stops, so get off the bus quickly and go explore, don't delay or you'll cut into time at each stop
The tour guide and bus driver were wonderful. Very informative and friendly. It was a lot of stops for one day and it felt like some stops were rushed. I would have preferred a couple less stops and more time in Halki, the pottery shop, and/or the olive press site. Side notes for other travelers: they email you the day before with your pickup location (this was really easy and helpful); the only entrance fee was for the first site (4€); lunch was around 2pm and you pay for that too.
Wonderful tour of the Castle and surrounding area before end at the Portara for sunset. On the way through the streets from the castle to the Portara we were able to sample some Raki and homemade lemonade. After the sunset we were able to sample locally made citron. We did this our first evening in Naxos and were given many great suggestions how to spend our next few days.
Once in a lifetime experience. Katerina and her Mom treated us just like family and the food we prepared was some of the best we had in Greece. I would highly recommend this experience and if Naxos wasn’t on your lists of islands to visit you should add it. The island is beautiful and the people of Naxos, are warm and inviting.
Really lovely and carefully planned out tour! Our guide was fully dedicated to our well-being and gave us a lot of information and fun facts throughout the whole time. Really recommend it to anyone looking for a more mellow, but equally interesting day full of history and delicious tastings!
