Champagne Brunch Cruise in San Diego
- Duration: 2 hours
I am very glad I opted to take this tour. I come to SD multiple times a year for years and finally decided to go. Convenient parking, easy to find, boat crew and captain very friendly. The tour i was on had local naturalists on board who were super friendly. 4 hours of just peacefulness and all of the details the Captain provides of the area. We saw hundreds of common dolphins in a feeding frenzy, a maco shark, sunfish, a fin whale AND we were fortunate enough to have caught a fast moving blue whale. These are things you cant capture on film or video but the experience stays with you forever. Absolutely recommend.
Went on Aug 5th, 2019 with family of 4 (two daughters 6 and 3 years old) Saw three pods of dolphins with largest pod around 50 dolphins. The dolphins swam and zooped around the boat for quite a bit. The girls enjoyed ‘em. We did not find any Blue whales this time around but the cruise team gave everyone on board vouchers to come back and try again! These vouchers are good until end of 2020 so we can plan to come back.
Despite the COLD, and lack of available top-deck chairs to sit in, it was an enjoyable trip. Capt. Rick was entertaining and did a great job of pointing out things to see, esp. the whales! He was able to get us close enough to a pod of 3 whales spotted by other boats that we got to see them surface twice. Was very exciting. Disappointed we didn’t see any dolphins...just wasn’t their day, I guess.
Our guide Brooke was terrific! Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, fun and an excellent ambassador for the city and your company. Her love of the park and the city is was very evident and infectious. It was very enjoyable from start to finish. I would highly recommend this tour.
We only saw two whales. It wasn't their fault, but I wish the information about the season was available before we bought the ticket. They gave us a second time tickets for free, we are coming back in December. Excellent services besides that.
