Located on one of the world's largest natural harbors, Sydney offers urban comfort with beautiful beaches and sprawling mountains on your doorstep. Here are some of the best attractions in Australia's largest city.
Despite its name, the Sydney Opera House is actually comprised of multiple venues for performances of all types. Be sure to catch one at Australia's most recognizable landmark!
Nicknamed "The Coathanger", the Sydney Harbour Bridge isn't just for ticking off your Sydney sightseeing checklist. You can climb it too! Book early to do a Bridge Climb tour at sunset.
The not-for-profit Taronga Zoo is one of Sydney's top attractions, with barless enclosures, regular talks, and stunning views of the harbor if, you can take your eyes off the animals!
It doesn't sound like the most promising place for tours in Sydney but Australia's first European settlement called "The Rocks" is actually named for its historic sandstone buildings.
Climb to Sydney's highest point to marvel at breathtaking views that stretch as far as the Blue Mountains. Then hunt for some fantastic deals at the shopping center beneath the Sydney Tower Eye!
Built as an extension of the city's aquarium to imitate the habitats of Australia's most iconic creatures, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is now one of the best things to do for families in Sydney!
The bold skyline of Darling Harbour crowns a lively recreational and tourism district, boasting everything from the Chinese Garden of Friendship to the world's largest IMAX screen!
Though some escaping the Northern Hemisphere's coldest months may enjoy the high temperatures of January and February, most will find the heat more bearable come March when fall rolls along. It's nonetheless perfect for checking out Sydney's best beaches! For those seeking lower-budget tourism, the cooler weather and low hotel prices make May the best time to visit.
Of course it depends on what you want to do, but the must-see sights can be covered in a couple of days. Consider adding a day-trip to the Blue Mountains to your itinerary though, and if you've already booked a longer trip, don't worry! Sydney has enough going on to keep even the pickiest tourist satisfied for weeks.
Most of Sydney's attractions lie within the central business district or along the harbor. If you really don't want to walk between them, the City Circle train and the Monorail will take you to and from most points of interest. There is also an inexpensive ferry service that offers fantastic views of Sydney from the water. If you have reason to venture further out, you can check train times and routes at www.transportnsw.info.

What people are saying about Sydney
Although I am much delayed in leaving this review, as I went on this tour last July, I had to take a moment to HIGHLY recommend this tour, or any with terry for that fact! In my trip to Sydney, this Blue Mountains tour was by far one of the BEST, if not the best experience I had while there. From the friendly, small group environment (which is a lovely way to make some new friends, and I found to be so fun!), to Terry's promptness (he showed up at my hotel right on time, with a smile, even AFTER I had booked the tour quite last minute!), to his thoughtfulness and knowledge (especially of Photography! This is a huge bonus, and I left with the most incredible photos from the day) as well as the incredible opportunity to learn so much from Terry about general information/Australia, truly made for a day I will likely not ever forget. No other tour I have been on anywhere in the world gave me the anything near the quality of this enriching, personalized experience I got with Terry
Amazing Day spent in the Hunter Valley . 2 out of the 3 Wineries provided an amazing Wine & Chocolate Tasing Experience . Lunch at the third was faultless and Mark our driver was very friendly and accomodating. The setting and location is absolutely stunning. For the Gin & Vodka lovers - a visit to a very new boutique outlet. My only criticism would be there was no cheese tasting ( Maybe due to COVID ? ) No Schnapps tasting and the second winery the wines tasted diluted . But all in all a lovely , fun day .
To be honest, it was our Wedding anniversary and we just wanted a day out on the Harbour, we hoped to see some Whales but we ended up having a fantastic day. Staff were really friendly, Host was very informative not only about the Whales who he clearly loves but also about Sydney Harbour. We saw plenty of amazing Whales, food was great, weather was great. PERFECT DAY, highly recommend to tourists and locals.
Amazing service! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience of wine tour with Dave (our guide). He was very knowledgeable, friendly and understanding; not to mention he also had a fabulous sense of humor! Definitely will tour again with Zepher Tours when we are up there! Thanks so much for giving us a the perfect snapshot of the Hunter Valley region.
The first winery gave great behind the scenes information and tour. It was perfect to do that first so you can go on to enjoy the wine relaxing and getting to know the group. It flowed really well and was a lot of fun. Cheeks was a great guide through the day
