We ment close to St. Marc and on it went. To begin with, I have no idea about Venice history; but the guide explained in a way that even a noob like me could quickly catch up. He was really into the stories, you could tell; his excitement rubbed off. Even the weirdest questions were not a problem - he had the answer. The restaurant recommendation really pleased my taste-buds, too! Amazing tour, definite recommendation!! The 2nd part, the self-guided tour, was quite interesting, too. I listened to it on my way back to the bus so I could only get a few stops but there are so many you can access!! If u book this tour I'd recommend to take the next day off so you can fully engage in the self-guided part, it's worth spending the time. Well, anyway: Thank you, it was great!

Mattia was great! It was as if our favourite nephew took us on an extensive, 6-hour-tour of the city where he lives and studies: Very personal, friendly and relaxed. The weather was terrible, it rained hard and was very windy. No Venetian would even leave the house in this weather, but Mattia kept going, showing us hidden treasures and even took us to the rooftop terrace of the house where he lives! At our request, we stopped twice in typical local bacari for a drink and a bite to eat, and he suggested fantastic places for that. It is just worth pointing out that this isn't a tour with an official local tourist guide. We didn't mind as it gave us a very personal experience, but I think it should be pointed out in the description of the tour.

The guide had very good English and was easy to understand, even over the noise of the boat's engine. She was obviously very knowledgeable and was able to explain clearly the points of interest. The tour was one hour and it passed very quickly. There were 10 of us but there was still room for all to stand and take photos.

Stefano is a terrific guide! He explained the history and architecture relating to St. Mark’s Bacilica and Doge’s Palace in an easy to understand manner and with a strong knowledge foundation. His background as an architect added another positive dimension. The 3 hour tour went quickly. We highly recommend taking it.

This tour is a definite recommendation, a must-do for everyone interested in Venice's history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, with an in-depth response for everyone extra question we had and brought across the information in a way that was engaging and fun to listen to.
