A nice relaxed walk around the port and Medina where Usin (sorry about the spelling) talked about the history of Essaouira. We stopped for tea with one of the local shopkeepers, and he brought me to a handcrafted wood carving shop where the owner gave us a demonstration. A lovely couple of hours.

Youness is a nice guy and the guide was pleasant, with many interesting historical information, but I would have hoped for something a bit more in-depth, and for some tips on interesting parts of the medina (artisans, places where to eat, shops), but I only got one restaurant recommendation, and that was super-mainstream and touristy. Also, the visit was 1 h and 30 min, not 2 h and 30 min. Overall though I enjoyed the visit and had a nice time with Youness.

Magnifique visite de Essaouira grâce au guide Mohamed. Il nous a bien guidé dans le port et la medina. Guide très intéressant et passionné. Notre plus beau souvenir restera la dégustation de poissons frais sur le port (encore très bien conseillés par Mohamed)
