Afterwards, stroll through Évora market to admire the colorful and tasty ingredients used to create some of the Portugal's most marvelous dishes. We will visit 3 megalithic sites and because all our tours are different we might have time to go to the Roman times and visit an authentic Roman Ruin. Departing from Évora, it will take you about 4 hours to visit the amazing village of Monsaraz. Wander the streets and enjoy the breathtaking views of this hilltop village. Enter a time capsule that will take you back centuries. En route, the tour will stop at San Pedro do Corval, a pottery village. Stop by a family-owned pottery and have a great opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about ceramics. Afterwards, don't go home without tasting unique wines from a local winery.

Your tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel/apartment or cruise ship. This private tour is provided with the objective of showing you the national monuments at Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although there will be time to visit the inside of some selected monuments or attractions, it is never sufficient to visit all of them, so please inform your driver of your preferences and all arrangements will be made in order to fulfill your preferences. As this is a private tour, you will have the freedom to rearrange your tour as you see fit. A standard itinerary will follow this form. After the hotel pick-up, you will head directly to the southeast through one of Lisbon's emblematic bridges, driving directly to Évora, approximately a 1.5-hour drive. Once you arrive, visit the Almendres Chromlech, one of the oldest structures of this type on the Iberian Peninsula. Then, walk through the small city center to the main attractions such as the Roman Temple, the Cathedral, the Bones Chapel, and Giraldo's Square (an approximately 1 to 2 kilometer walk to see all the main spots).  Lunch can be arranged in one of the many restaurants in the city center. Afterward, head to one of the estates or wine shops in the area, where you can choose to have a tasting of the wines produced there. After visiting the estate, head back to your accommodation for an approximately 5:30 PM arrival. After, while heading to the industry, learn also why there is such an unforgettable and unique landscape totally shaped by the opening of the marble quarries through the centuries. It’s time to absorb all the beauty of this very unique landscape. Next is time to explore and enjoy the marble industry sites with a visit to a few quarries where you will see the marble extraction taking place and identify the machinery used but also the dangerousness associated with it. Once marble isn't ready to be applied right after the extraction, you will also visit a factory where the marble will get the final shapes before being applied or sent to the market to be sold. Last but not least, as marble can be the perfect material to give shape to an art masterpiece, be sure to visit artisans workshops to watch the handmade shaping of the marble while being stunned by some really overwhelming marble art masterpieces. The different colours ors of Portugueses marble have been appreciated since the Romans were the rulers of the Iberian Peninsula, and since then the Alentejo marble was used and exported to the whole world mainly from the quarries of this small but cozy town called Vila Viçosa.
