Full description
Visit the Field Museum of Natural History, one of Chicago's great museums. With more than 35 world-renowned natural history exhibitions, there's something for everyone. Imagine subterranean life in the Underground Adventure exhibit, where you'll “shrink” to 1/100th of your natural size to explore the world beneath the surface. Admire sparkling gemstones in the Hall of Gems, and marvel at one of the largest collections of Chinese jade in North America in the Hall of Jades. Then, follow the stories of the Ice Age mammoth hunters and the temples of the Inca and Aztecs, or visit the Dinosaur Hall Evolving Planet exhibit to mingle with giant sloths, woolly mammoths, Sue, and Maximo. All this is included with the General Admission Ticket option. Upgrade to the All-Access Pass and receive entry to a 3-D movie and all 3 ticketed special exhibitions. Choose the Early Access VIP Tour option for an experience upgrade featuring a one hour VIP small-group tour of the museum's dinosaurs with an expert before the museum opens to the general public. Take pictures with Sue or Maximo without the crowds. Then explore the rest of the museum on your own with an all-access ticket that also includes a 3D movie titled "Waking the T-Rex."

I really enjoyed seeing the fossils and human artifacts, but I must say that I was highly disappointed by all of the taxidermy in the animal exhibit. I saw so many endangered animals, many of them babies, stuffed and put on display like it was nothing. The museum claims to be an ally to the natural world and then showcases a legacy of environmental degradation and human-led species endangerment.

I took my 5 year old Grandson and he loved every exhibit from the Dinosaurs in the big hall to the rocks and crystals on 2, to the native exhibits and the birds. Lunch in the hall and then to the Trex and the life of Jane and probably the hit of the day - the Virtual Reality ride.

I know some people said this was expensive for the price but it was a great tour! We got lucky and were the only couple and it was well worth the money. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Glad I didn’t miss out on this tour. Thanks Field Museum and Get Your Guide!
