Learn the secrets of Tuscan cooking at a half-day cookery class. Meet your chef at the central market to do a little grocery shopping for the ingredients that you will prepare. Once your visit to the market is over, you'll be driven by minivan to the cookery school where your lesson will take place. Having met the butchers, bakers, and farmers selling their vegetables at the market, prepare their delicious produce as your chef talks about the origin of each dish and Italian cuisine in general. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, hand make your pasta and sauces, such as tomato, ragù, bolognese, or pesto. Then, prepare a meat or fish dish, followed by a scrumptious dessert. Put the final touches to your meal, supported by the chef. Then, enjoy a lunch of the dishes you have cooked, served with quality Italian wines. Collect your graduation certificate before you leave to show off to your family and friends! After the class, you will be driven back to the departure point in the center of Florence.

Excellent chef/teacher. Market visit was worthwhile. Good balance of hands on cooking (we each rolled our own pasta dough, vs our chef speeding up some of the more tedious activities. Food was superb - made bruschetta, bolognese, tiramisu from scratch. Small group (7 people) made the experience much more personal, memorable.

Informative and fun experience

The experience started 15 minutes late because one of the participants got lost, so it ended later. We went immediately to the main market where the chef talked about the meats, cheeses and vegetables, giving many tips on varieties and what to purchase. We had a tasting of truffle products - oils, pastes and cheeses which was great. Then we went to the kitchen, and watched and participated in the preparation and making of Bruschetta, Tagliatelli, the sauce and tiramisu - all from scratch - and then sat down and ate a three course meal with red or white wine. The experience was Great. On arriving back home I immediately recreated the meal for 12 members of my family to their great pleasure and astonishment. I now have the skills and confidence to create a variety of pasta dishes using the Italian philosophy of minimal use of herbs and spices - and of course the ability to make a Great Tiramisu.

I would have given this 5 stars but we were promised the recipes and we never got them. It’s been 3 weeks now and we were told that they would email them to us. The other couple that went with us did not get anything either. We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class and the food we prepared was excellent!
