Absolutely great cooking class! Chef Emanuelle was fantastic, entertaining and so very knowledgeable. We learned how to make Italian Ragu and egg pasta, which was delicious and amazing! Chef Emanuelle told us the history of certain types of food, taught us the various techniques, everyone got their turn to chop vegetables, make pasta and stir the pot of ragu. It was truly a group effort and we learned so much! I would highly recommend taking this class and would definitely take it again, it was so much fun.
We learnt much about choosing and buying local food and typical dishes and foods of Tuscany as well as how to cook. The food market was in a different area to where we had visited before giving us more of an insight into local produce and shopping. We learnt for the first time ever how easy it is to make fresh pasta, the ingredients for Ragu and how to make traditional tiramisu. It was very satisfying to eat what we had prepared and cooked and we learnt loads from the very friendly and informative Chef.
Disappointed our class was Not for English only students. We lost the flow of class while translating Spanish for 1 woman. It was frustrating for our group of 6. Our chef was excellent and had patience for the lady. Toward the middle of class it was getting frustrating waiting for her translation and questions.. why does your picture show students & Chef wearing hats. WE weren't provided with any.
Good paced tour, taking in main sightseeing places and with great tastings. At market we had four different ravioli then several different truffle products, balsamic vinegar and vin santo with cantucci, some local vege/bread dishes and finished with gelato. Great selection of food and it was a good small group to go with. Guide was very friendly and informative of Florence.
Excellent chef/teacher. Market visit was worthwhile. Good balance of hands on cooking (we each rolled our own pasta dough, vs our chef speeding up some of the more tedious activities. Food was superb - made bruschetta, bolognese, tiramisu from scratch. Small group (7 people) made the experience much more personal, memorable.
