Rome: Private 3.5-Hour Castelli Romani Wine Tasting Tour
- Small group

On this 3.5-hour excursion you’ll head out of Rome with your private driver to the wooded hills of Castelli Romani. The name of the area translates as Roman castles, but in reality it simply refers to a collection of wine-producing hills just southeast of Rome. The tour, priced for a group of up to 4 people, stops at Antico Casale, where you’ll meet the winemaker and then tour the vineyard and cellars. Learn how the wine is produced and maybe even sample a grape fresh off of the vine. After the winery tour, you’ll sit down for a tasting session and sample 3 varieties of wine that are produced here. The first wine you’ll taste is a white Frascati DOCG, which means the wine has its designation of origin guaranteed. The second is a red wine IGP, which has a protected geographical indication. And last but not least, taste a sweet Cannellino wine. Each wine is paired with a delicious Ita...
Everything was smooth, from the pick-up at the hotel until return. We got very nice explanation about grapes, olives and production and saw really nice scenery. The wine tasting was 2 white and 1 red wine which we really enjoyed together with small finger foods. We also got more insight to how to fully enjoy the aroma and the wine. All in all a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!
You will meet your group and be introduced to your guides at the Frascati Railway Station. From there your guide will lead the way on a short walk through historic Frascati, the very heart of the Roman countryside. You'll get a glimpse of this characteristic town and it's rich history which dates back to Roman times. After a short walk, you will arrive at a beautiful wine cellar, where your hosts will open the wines produced at the family vineyard: Frascati Superiore D.O.C.G., and Vagnolo. After tasting the wine with some traditional appetizers, your pasta making begins. Your chef will teach you how to make authentic homemade pasta, so be ready to get your hands dirty. Once you have mixed and rolled out your pasta you will be faced with a difficult choice: which of the Roman-style dishes would you like to create? You can choose from 3 typical recipes: Carbonara, Amatriciana, or Cacio e...

Highly recommended! Was here and celebrated my mother who turned 50. We were six people in the company and had a private tour of the farm. Very good review on how to taste wines and these wines were really good. We ordered bottles to take home. For the different wines we got different delicacies, bruschetta with garlic, bruschetta with tomatoes, pecorini cheese and some good meat. Really yummy! Just the right ride from Rome, around 45min - 1h ride with the taxi which was also included. The whole place was very cozy and even owned by a family. Definitely affordable !!
Punctual pickup and very pleasant drive to the winery in a spacious car. The son of the house first showed the vineyards and gave explanations. Very interesting. Then we went to the wine tasting in a great, stylish old ambience. Three excellent wines with exquisite small snacks. It was worth it! We only found three wines a little bit less for a wine tasting with the price, but they were probably the best. Unfortunately, the time was then a bit short because the driver was pushing back to Rome.
Patrick our driver was prompt to pick us up and very courteous. I love that the winery was not busy which allowed plenty of time to talk with the vintner and winery owner. The food pairings with the wines were stupendous. Yes I loved dipping the homemade cookies in the sweet wine! The ride home was of a different path because Patrick have us a scenic route with recommendations of sights to see.
