Explore Madeira Island's highest mountain on paths that are only accessible by foot with this convenient car transfer from Pico Do Arieiro. Enjoy a convenient transfer in an air-conditioned minivan from Funchal or Canico to Pico Do Arieiro, with a pick-up in Pico Ruivo.

Be picked up early in the morning from your accommodation in Funchal or Canico. Sit back and relax in a spacious minivan as you ride through the countryside to Pico Do Arieiro, the 3rd highest mountain on the Island. Hike to the top before sunrise and take in the myriad of colors that paint the sky.

Take your time as you walk and set your own pace or join others in the group. It takes 4 and a half hours to complete the hike but it can take longer depending on the agility level of the group. Travel from Pico Do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo, the highest mountain on Madeira Island with 1862 meters of altitude. 

Keep an eye out for vibrantly colored birds as you walk above the clouds. Pass thorugh tunnels and go up the famed Stairway to Heaven path. Continue on to Achada Do Teixeira where you can board the minivan for the ride back to your accommodation.

This transfer was great. Very punctual pick up and drop-off. Got to see the sunrise and it was magical! Tour guide explained everything perfectly (I think his name was Reuben) and he was very friendly and funny. Communication was excellent from the beginning. WhatsApp was available from before even booking! Just sent them a message and you get a response the same day! Just one thing about the actual hike was that it does get very difficult in the middle. But that is about the hike itself. Very impressed and would recommend this company!

Fantastic tour with! The guide Ulisses was funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Timing of the tour was spot on as we arrived on time for the sunrise, and had enough time to complete the hike and get picked up back. I personally would recommend this tour for hiking from Arieiro to Ruivo and then back to Taixeira.

Diogo was an excellent guide - he was very punctual when picking us up and gave us lots of information about the hike to help us find the way, then picked us up at the end and drove back to Funchal via the traditional houses in Santana. It was also super helpful to receive information the day before the hike with information about the weather conditions, sunrise time, and exact pick up times.
