This is a most do activity. The guide we had was lovely, had great banter and made sure all participants were safe and comfortable. It was foggy for majority of the ride but in the summer the views would be beautiful. If you are a thrill seeker, you must do this!

This was the best excursion of our holiday. Although the Land rover we were in had seen better days, we were just unlucky there - we met up with several other Green Devil vehicles during the day that were obviously newer and in better shape. Nevertheless our old vehicle managed the off-road tracks up the mountains with ease, and our guide Eric was both entertaining and a very good driver - we never felt unsafe at any time. The views from the high peaks, above the clouds, were amazing. We also enjoyed being in the very atmospheric, mist shrouded Laurissilva forest, before taking some more fun-filled off-road tracks down the mountain and back to the sunshine on the North Coast for Porto Moniz, Saixal etc. A great day out for all.

This was one of the best guided tours of our life ; Such an amazing experience, our guide Dinarte was absolutely fantastic, such an amazing guy; he did everything possible for us to get the best views and photos and to have the most amazing time ; very knowledgeable and friendly; we spent a lot of time up in the mountains for some of the most incredible views , had an amazing lunch(15€) , a few drinks along the way during our trip at some popular spots; we were lucky enough to share our trip with two other lovely couples that made the trip quite unforgettable. We are amazed every second of the beauty of this island ,we did do quite a bit of trips before this (guided ones), and I must say this was definitely the best. to everyone that wants to do this bring a swimming suit and some towels , wear something comfortable, preferably have cash on you and be ready to be amazed!!!
