We were brand new visitors to Madeira so wanted to learn a little bit about the background and history of Funchal. We were staying in Funchal and the tour covered the area that we had started to explore ourselves plus other areas we hadn't reached yet. Our guide was really knowledgeable and his English was impeccable, so we were able to easily understand everything he told us. As well as the history, he told us a bit about the local plant life and, traditional food and drinks of the Island which we then went on to try ourselves after the tour had finished. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours and we saw and learnt a lot without feeling overwhelmed with information or rushed from place to place. The fact that there were only 5 of us on the tour, all English, meant that we could easily hear everything he told us and we didn't need to listen to it in lots of different languages. It was a great tour for new visitors to a really lovely city.

This is a ‘must do’ activity early in the holiday. The tour lasted two hours and two students guided us around. One was under training but the main guide gave us lots of useful information and we covered all the major attractions. The walk proved really useful for later in the holiday as we knew where we wanted to explore in more depth. Highly recommended. This is the fourth city walk we have done with this company- all exceptional.

Wie felt our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We were in a very small group of only four which we felt helped give us more information. I do feel that the tour was not advertised well. We found it by chance. It was a very worthwhile tour.throughly recommend it to visitors to Madeira.
