Full description

Queimadas’ House is a true fairy tale which sits in a green paradise. Walking until you reach a majestic waterfall, you will notice that your surroundings are remarkably green. Along the way you will be rewarded with magnificent views over the village of São Jorge, as well as the great neighboring mountains. The water is always present along the walk. You can see the water gushing from the walls, flowing on the "levada", and falling from the sky on raining days. It’s a fantastic trail, and is 100% safe all year long. You will find some tunnels along the way, so do not forget your flashlight and protect your head with a helmet. Arriving at Caldeirão Verde, you will be able to immerse yourself in the breathtaking views of the huge waterfall cascading over the cold and crystalline lagoon.

Wow, what an amazing adventure. Perfect tour. The guide and driver was so sweet and informative. He told lots of informations and had a story for everything thing all the time. It was service over the top from the start of the tour until the end. The walk was a good exercise in the middle of the most beautiful nature. Would not recommend this tour is you’re not fit for trekking. You’ll walk along a Levada just next to huge mountainsides, that was really nerve wrecking, but the greatest experience. A small observation is, bring your own food. Also be aware that the walk is not 12, but 13 kilometers. The tour took us 2 hours and 40 minutes on the way, and 2 hours back. The car ride was one hour each way. Therefore the tour lasted for almost 8 hours, and not 6. :-) GO on this Levada, you’ll not regret it, and you’re in good hands.

Had a very nice and beautiful walk with Richard. During the walk we also learned the history of the origin of the Levada's. A must if you are in Madeira!

Lovely excursion

The excursion is very beautiful and easy to do, I would have liked our guide to know more Spanish, otherwise everything is correct.
