This was an excellent trip seeing lots of different aspects of Madeira and having some fun being driven by Chris in the Land Rover. We stopped for an hour to go swimming at Porto Moniz which was definitely worth doing - there weren’t many people and they have really good changing rooms and showers there. It was misty up in the mountains so we didn’t get the views but this was more than made up for by seeing the ancient trees at Fanal emerge from the mist as we walked amongst them. Lunch stop was good and including the viewpoint was a good way to end the day. Be prepared for some fun driving!

Our guide, Gil, was the perfect tour guide. He made us all feel very comfortable being together. He created suspense with his little “surprises”. The trip was in a jeep through beautiful mountains and valleys and along the coast. It was time for swimming in the pools. I am so glad I saw this part of Madeira on this trip. It was such a fun day and should not be missed. Hopefully You too will have Gil for a tour guide!

Great guide, fantastic views through the clouds, the tour we did was not this one, as it was booked late it was just the Jeep tour but very enjoyable

Very pleasant drive with the car and a nice travel companion who took care of everything.

The entire day was fabulous!!! Really enjoyed swimming in the volcanic pools!
