Start at the port - tour along the coast with a stop for snorkeling. Our guide was very helpful with snorkeling and boarding and disembarking during the stop as it is not that easy to get in and out of the boat due to the waves. Bathing shoes are definitely recommended.

We had a very pleasant experience. The entire trip took about 3 hours. We started by kayaking about 45 minutes from Funchal to the snorkeling spot, then snorkel for 1 hour and back. It was a balanced experience (long enough to be fun, but not too long as to become boring). The snorkeling spot is quite nice with lots of rocks and fish to explore. Pedro was very patient and helpful throughout. Highly recommended.

We were beginners including a 13 year old and found the kayaking easily manageable, with clear instruction. We felt in good hands with the guide and the trip was a good length for us, a little tiring as expected but good fun. The only slight negative was we were given final pick up information about 10pm the night before the activity, although the instructor was easily contacted and we were picked up outside our hotel anyway.
