Guide knowledgeable and helpful

Nice walk along the levada and into village. Guide knowledgeable on plants and trees. Pick up time - difficult to know when transport will arrive for pick up, was told 8-40, but pick up was much later. It would be nice to know the approximate length of the time for the day, including pick up to drop off. Time given only relates to the walk. Overall pleased with the organization and would use again.

First of all: no organizer / guide can do anything for bad weather. For dealing with it, however, it does. During the entire hike, we had low-hanging clouds (= no visibility) and rain almost all the time. It would make sense to not start / cancel the hike. However, the guide André did not really react to the weather conditions. It went so far that at a point where there is always a break (we did the hike a few years ago) a picnic break was taken in the continuous rain. He also wanted to get the group to have a tomato soup or a coffee in the café at the destination after the hike, even though most of the participants were completely soaked. However, we were able to prevent this conclusion. At another operator (unfortunately forgotten name) we experienced a breakdown a few years ago before starting a hike. That made for significantly more satisfaction.
