Full description

Depart from the Queimadas Guest House at the start of a hike along the Levada da Serra de São Jorge, one of the most popular scenic walks in eastern Madeira. Enjoy stunning views of an emerald green paradise, including magnificent vistas of the villages below you shortly after the start of your hike. Pass a waterfall and some small tunnels en route to the incredible cascades of the Caldeirão Verde waterfall. After a picnic lunch, continue towards Santana, famous for its traditional Madeirense houses. Hike through green pastures where cows graze, and discover some of the most remote sites of Madeira along the way.

Great hike on a leafy levada.

The pick-up very close to our hotel in the city center worked on time, a total of seven participants on this tour. Our hiking guide spoke German (and English) very well and told us a lot about the nature and landscape of Madeira. Overall, a wonderful tour that I can only recommend!

Very nice walk even if it happened all along in the rain. Think of a flashlight and bring a rain cape because our gore tex jackets were not enough. The pick-up service and great guide. Thank you.
